BAMiAM! aka B.A. Miale aka Bethann Marie Theresa Miale is a multifaceted video artist who specializes in anything she decides to dive head first into at any given time. Right now, that would be personalized live-mixed (via keytar) visual backdrops for bands... and the occasional music video.

Born and raised in the trenches of suburban Long Island, B.A spent her whole life acting out songs in front of her bedroom mirror.

At the age of 10, she assembled the neighborhood kids and wrote and directed a musical entitled "Pizazz" about a heroine from outer space. She wrote the play based around songs she heard on the radio, therefore needed to change the title to "Venus", thank- you Bananarama.

Unfortunately, her musical tour de force never came to fruition due to mutiny among her cast which resulted in her getting clocked in the face with a nine iron. No joke. So she took her creative angst out on her little brothers-- dressing them in drag and making them act out Duran Duran songs. (Which didn't hurt her youngest brother Anthony's future escapades.)

At the age of 20, B.A. moved out of Long Island to attend NYC's pristine School Of Visual Arts majoring in advertising and graphic design. During her senior year, she held an internship at "Late Night With Conan O'Brien", her favorite show at the time. Highlights of this gig include playing "Conan" in rehearsal and being sent to Joey Ramone's house on a run. At SVA, she had some great, weird professors, one who informed her she shouldn't have a desk job unless she was jumping up and down on top of one.

In 1998, two weeks after graduation B.A got a desk job as an advertising copywriter. However, during this time, she also began taking improv comedy classes with the Upright Citizens Brigade, completing levels 1 & 2. She discovered she'd rather be directing then acting so began working with Chris Cassidy on a documentary for her favorite band at the time, The Bogmen.

After the Bogmen's demise at the turn of the century, B.A developed a creative relationship with their vocalist Billy Campion who was embarking on his new band, Vic Thrill. She was one of the founding members of the Vic Thrill Salon, a creative community based around the recording studio of the same name, who's internal escapades have not only inspired an episode of NPR's "This American Life", but a major motion picture currently in pre-production.

Originally editing with two VCRs, B.A. & Chris began developing video backdrops for Vic's live shows. She eventually evolved her craft through iMovie, then Final Cut Pro while setting up shop in the now defunct recording studio. Damn you luxury condos! *falls to knees and shakes fist at sky*

*Gets back up.*
It was here she began developing relationships with other local acts, including the band next door.  2 Skinnee J's asked her to direct not only a few videos, but meet them on the road and help put together a dvd commemorating their "Fuck You We Quit!" tour of 2003.

Over the next few years, B.A would work with other local acts including The Psychos, The Negatones, The Vitamen and Radio 4, while continuing to spew projections for live Vic Thrill shows.

In the summer of 2004, she documented the inaugural season of Brooklyn Kickball at McCarren Park, releasing weekly highlight reels of the hilarity and debauchery that ensued. Her kickball connections led her to video jobs with PUMA and Glamour.com.

Not to mention a two and a half year stint as a rock'n'roll copywriter at BMG/Columbia House. Here she wrote thousands of music trivia questions and supplied the merch catalog with such gems as "For those about to drink, we salute you with these AC/DC shotglasses!"

In December of 2006, B.A was asked to VJ three Bogmen Reunion shows at Bowery Ballroom and Webster Hall, and dove into Arkaos Live Video Mixing. Following a mini-tour to South by Southwest and New Orleans with Vic Thrill, B.A was given a Keytar from Eddie Eyeball of 2 Skinnee Js as a tool to bring her video mixing to the next level. Eddie rules.

In September of 2007, B.A directed a critically acclaimed award-winning video for art-punk extraordinaires, Les Savy Fav, making her 5-year-old buddy an internet sensation. In November, she directed a video for the Hopewell track "Echo And His Brother". Stereogum wanted to know "...who scored the Willie Wonka shit and where can we get some?"

December of 2007 was spent honing her VJ skills working on major gigs including the Knockout Drops at Bowery Ballroom and the Bogmen reunion show at Nokia Theater.

In winter of 2008, B.A directed her first music video/PSA hybrid for electronic outfit, Knock 'Em Alive. The video for "Golden Bulletproof Parachute" reacts to anti-gay marriage enthusiasts and encourages the viewer to "Be a bigot bigot". It also was the first time B.A incorporated her live video mixing skills in a music video.During this time she also was the first to host an all-request youtube request night, entitled Youtubesday. Stay tuned for its triumphant return.

In the summer of 2008, B.A returned on the road with 2 Skinnee Js for their "Mission Accomplished" tour-- only this time, on stage with the band and her Keytar providing the eye candy at venues like The Norva in Virginia Beach, 9:30 Club in DC and two nights at The Filmore at Irving Plaza. In December, she spent another evening with The Bogmen at Nokia Theater.

In March of 2009, She completed her most ambitious Music Video to date for The Giraffes, directing the title-track video for their upcoming release "Prime Motivator". Collaborating with rock photographer extraordinaire, Jackie Roman, and set/prop design genius, Masha Gvozdov, they created a stop-motion psychedelic adaptation of front man Aaron Lazar's cardiac mishaps.

Aside from other video gigs, B.A still takes the occasional copywriting gig, most recently for both MTV Networks and Fuse.

She continues to collaborate with many other bands in both the music video and live video mixing realm (hire her to save your world.) And she still acts out songs in front of her bedroom mirror--only now, in public too.
